Album Review: Stray Kids – GO LIVE

Stray Kids is back with their new full length album ‘GO LIVE’. They’ve been dropping iconic teaser videos for this one and I’m ready y’all!

GO LIVE

The opening track is ‘GO LIVE’ and from the get go they go hard. Though I wasn’t expecting anything less. It shifts completely with the laid back rapping style and what a mood.

Next up is ‘God’s Menu’ that came with a brand new music video.

This track is insane and it’s a BOP. Changin opens it up with some spitfire rapping and is followed by Han who does the same. The pre-chorus is beautiful and lets the vocal line get their cut of the spotlight. The ‘DU DU DU DU DU DU’ was a shock to the system and I like the fact that they switched it between members. Felix’ line will forever remain iconic, ‘cooking like chef’ indeed.

‘Easy’ is up next. We start off with a funky little intro that leads smoothly in the rap line going off. It all leads up to a very interesting trap beat.

‘Pacemaker’ is the fourth track on the album. There are so many things going on in the background. The little ‘whoop’ is adorable. The chorus is very cool and I’m in love with their synergy.

Next up is ‘Airplane’ with chill summer vibes all around. The little synths are fun and they really played around with the tempo. I feel like this would be perfect for one of their street performance videos.

The first slow song on the album is ‘Another Day’ written by Han. He always seems to get in our feels, here’s the translation. It’s a beautiful mid-tempo ballad with some great acoustic guitar in there. The members’ are almost whispering in one of the verses and I got chills y’all.

Next up

With ‘Phobia’ we slide somewhere between hype and emotional ballad. There are some really cool samples being used and WOW I’m in love with this track. Definitely go check out the English translation of this one. This is definitely one of my favorites.

‘Blueprint’ starts off with humming and goes into this funky bass line. Felix, honey, you’re doing amazing. What a fun track! Also it feels very uplifting, like I should believe in myself more.

Next up is ‘Ta’ and it’s a wild ride. It’s high paced and the ‘hoo’ in the background makes it intense as hell. It gives me festival vibes and I’m living for it.

‘Haven’ is already the tenth track and was completely written by Bang Chan. Listen to this one together with ‘Blueprint’ if you need uplifting, believe in yourself songs. It has a very fun chorus and I love the outro with the clapping and the vocals.

The next two songs are ‘TOP’ and ‘Slump’ which are the ‘Tower of God’ OSTs. We wrote about these when they originally came out, you can find that here

After that we get the pre-released song ‘Mixtape: Gone Days’ that came with this hilarious MV.

The same goes for this pre-released track ‘Mixtape: On Track’.

Overall

Honestly, ‘GO LIVE’ by Stray Kids is a really solid album that fluctuates between hype songs and slightly slower ones with meaningful lyrics as always.

The boys from 3RACHA (Bang Chan, Changbin and Han) really have so much talent, JYP can be very lucky to have signed them.
