EVAN’s debut album is finally here! Formerly known as HEESUNG of ENHYPEN, EVAN is jumping into a brand-new adventure as a solo artist with his first mini-album, ‘DEATH OF ME’. At the beginning of the summer, he released the pre-release single ‘RIDE OR DIE’, giving us a little appetizer for what was to come with this release.

DEATH OF ME
The release kicks off with ‘Not Enough’, a pop single with heavy R&B vibes. Its flow is absolutely smooth, and the layering is one of its major highlights. The track goes off, creating a dark, alluring, and sexy intro.
‘Noise’ takes over with a more indie-pop/R&B composition and lo-fi beats. The vocal effects in this track add depth and emotional weight to the song, while the vocals are fantastic. The soft instrumentals only make the track feel even more sentimental.
We jump into the pre-release single ‘Ride or Die’, and its rock-pop mix and angsty feel are still very cool. The track brings a slightly different energy to the release while fitting nicely into the overall journey.
The title track, ‘Death of Me’, is up next, opening with rather dramatic beats that smoothly transform into an upbeat pop-R&B track with a slightly angsty vibe. The music video is just as dramatic as the track, with incredible performance moments and sleek shots. Watch it below!
‘Twilight’ takes over with UK Garage beats. This track leans toward the trendier side, and EVAN definitely shines with his falsettos and vocal texture throughout the song.
We go back to alt-rock with ‘Immature’, but for this track, he fully embraces the genre. It’s an intense song featuring a super sick vocal flow and progression.
The second pre-release single, ‘Overflow’, is up next, softening things up with its indie feel and absolutely lovely instrumentals.
The release closes with ‘Going Home’, a single all about comfort through its full composition and vocals. The flow, instrumentation, and overall feel nicely wrap up this release.
