[Review] KIHYUN – BORDERLINE

Our Kihyun from Monsta X is back with his new solo mini-album ‘BORDERLINE’. We’re expecting hella vocals, so let’s take a closer look!

BORDERLINE

We start off with the track ‘BORDERLINE’ which is a pop rock moment with the “message of pioneering one’s own path by choosing challenge over stability.”

Next up is the title track ‘So Good’. Here we are letting go of expectations and trusting our gut, according to the lyrics. We’re getting some very impressive vocals (YAY) and I really enjoyed the hook of the chorus.

‘Stealin’ Air’ is a hybrid pop song and brings more synths to the instrumentals. We’re going seductive with this one.

‘Domino’ is an urban rock track and really has this fun early 2000s summer radio vibe. It’s awesome.

Next up is ‘Lazy Day’. Take a break with an urban groove, some brass and an easy-listening melody. This is adorable and will put an instant smile on your face.

‘Late Night Drive’ brings in the piano keys and an R&B sensibility. It’s a lovely listen and we get some of his stunning high notes.

The closing track is ‘Howling’ and this one goes a bit more intense. This high energy rock track bursts with passion and I’m going to be obsessed with this track for a bit.
