The boys from MONSTA X are back with their latest mini-album ‘The Phase’. We’re super stoked so let’s take a closer look!
The Phase
We start off with the title track ‘MAGIC’. This is a really cool track, that feels really fresh and contemporary. It’s a very sophisticated sound and boasts impressive vocals, hella cool rapping and a super sick music video.
We’re going for a darker hip-hop track with ‘Type X’. It’s a heavy trap beat and a very cool chorus. I honestly really enjoyed this!
‘SURVIVOR’ talks about MONSTA X’ journey these past 11 years, where they proclaim proudly that they’re still alive. This is a hella cool track with a more rock sensibility with sick guitars and a lot of power!
‘Electric Heart’ brings back the 2010s R&B that they excel at. It’s a very smooth track, with even smoother vocals and a very interesting layering.
After that comes ‘That’s My Girl’ that “portrays an intense attraction from which one cannot escape amidst chaotic emotions that seem to traverse between reality and fantasy.”
We’re closing off with an acoustic moment with the track ‘Sweet Night, Sweet Morning’. “It conveys warm comfort, suggesting that just as the sun rises after the rain, hope always eventually returns to our side.” It’s beautiful, lovely and like a warm cup of tea.
