Animal Divers, the 9th team ‘B-AND’ presents.
‘Animal Divers’ is an electronic world music duo consisting of ‘Jo Hyun,’ a performer pioneering the introduction of unique instruments like the ‘didgeridoo’ and ‘handpan’ in Korea, and ‘Ash,’ a proven musician who has showcased his talent through various bands in the indie scene.
The ‘didgeridoo,’ a traditional Australian wind instrument with its deep, resonant sound, is complemented by the handpan, filling the space between the rich tones. Layered with electronic beats and guitar melodies, this combination creates a different kind of experimental electronic sound, distinct from the rock-based electronic music many bands have attempted. Animal Divers officially began their journey in 2018 with the release of their album [Horizon Noir].
‘Ash,’ a member of the punk band ‘Sugar Donut’ and the electronic band ‘LudiSTELO,’ both of which have been highly active in the Korean indie scene, is responsible for guitar, programming, and production in the band. His musical expertise, gained through various projects, and his unique genre-blending style have come together to form a key part of Animal Divers.

The second full-length album [Odyssey], released five years after their first album, is an epic inspired by the journey of the Greek mythological hero ‘Odysseus,’ depicting the war and his subsequent return home. The album expands on ‘Animal Divers’ original concept by incorporating traditional Korean instruments like the gayageum and yanggeum, creating a rich and adventurous sound.
