We’re back with a new Ode To The Artist and this time we’re focusing on indie icons Silica Gel. Let’s take a closer look!
Currently the band consists of Kim Geonjae, Kim Choonchoo, Kim Hanjoo and Choi Woonghee.
Silica Gel debuted in 2015 with the EP ‘Pure Sun’.
The year after they released their self-titled full-length album which landed them several awards.
In 2017 they released both the single ‘Space Angel’ and the EP ‘SiO2.nH2O’.
They went on temporary hiatus for about two years before coming back in 2020 with the single ‘Kyo181’.
The year after Silica Gel came back with the single ‘Desert Eagle’.
‘No Pain’ which was released in 2022 was a huge success in Korea.
Their most recent releases are the EP ‘Machine Boy’ and the single ‘Tik Tak Tok’ featuring So-yoon of Se So Neon. The single is a pre-release of their upcoming album ‘Power Andre 99’.
