I had already listened to Hyukoh before and I became their fan since their appearance in Infinite Challenge, a Korean variety show. The MV recommendation today just confirms how wonderful this indie rock band is.
Once more, Hyukoh broke all of the stereotypes with their music and released this anthem of love. The song and its video scream diversity, inclusiveness and I love the fact that it shows how love can come from different sources and different faces.
All of the interracial couples and inclusion of LGBTQ couples are the highlights of the video. It’s not exactly common for a Korean video to feature those so we at M.E.A.L. fully support the videos that do. Hyukoh is known for not conforming to social standards and they break taboos left and right and we love them for it.
The highlight of this video are the interracial couples and the inclusion of LGTBQ+ couples, factors that are not exactly common for music videos of a Korean Band but again Hyukoh is known for not conforming to social standards and breaking taboos left and right.
The ‘Love Ya’ music video is beautiful in many ways. It shows that Human interactions are an amazing source of art and in here it is a celebration of the simplicity of those interactions. It’s all about people connected in love.
Overall this song’s lively beat and beautiful lyrics will probably put a smile on your face as much as it does every time I listen to it.
Make sure to listen to their full album ‘24 : How To Find True Love And Happiness’. It will take you through every possible emotional state and you’ll be amazed by the incredible talent this band has.
