KickFlip is back with new music in their fifth mini-album, ‘KICK OFF THE WALL Pt. 1’! They pre-released the single ‘Puzzle Piece’ a few days ago, and expectations are high. Let’s dive right into this release!
KICK OFF THE WALL Pt. 1
Kicking off this release is the pre-released single ‘Puzzle Piece’, with a lovely pop-rock feel and beautiful vocal delivery. The harmonies are stunning throughout the song and add a soft charm that makes it a killer opening track.
The second title track, ‘Kick Off The Wall’, features iann dior. For this single, they go full-on pop-rock with guitar riffs, synths, and sharp bass. The rapping flow is very catchy, and the contrast between the singing and rap sections makes the song incredibly dynamic. The harmonies are pure hype, and everything only gets more powerful with the dance break in the bridge.
‘0 (Young)’ continues the pop-punk vibes, but this time they go a little deeper into the genre. This single feels like a total anthem, with its chanting and powerful instrumentation, while the build-up is just effortlessly cool.
Hyper-pop and funky vibes take over in ‘Rockin’’. The track stands out with its pace and build-up, totally going off as it progresses. We loved its layering and constant fast changes, making this a seriously fun listen.
With ‘hate blueberry’, they go emo-pop with a single that carries serious angsty vibes but also manages to become softer through some fantastic vocalization. The rap line totally kills it with its fantastic melodic rapping, while the vocal harmony sections are simply flawless.
‘Drop In’ is up next with intense electric guitar and some alt-synth elements. This track is a total vibe, and like its predecessor, it feels a little angsty while remaining effortlessly cool.
Starting with an acoustic intro, we get ‘Waste It All With You’. The song develops into a lovely rock track as it progresses, with fantastic harmonies and soft rapping that keep everything flowing smoothly.
We close this release with ‘Kick Off The Wall’, but this time we get the members-only version.
With this EP, KickFlip has delivered a very instrumentally driven release, with solid singing and rapping and a mix of sounds that showcases the different charms of the group. Make sure to give ‘KICK OFF THE WALL Pt. 1’ a listen!
