The group UP10TION is back with their new mini-album ‘Novella’. Let’s dive right in!
Novella
We start off with ‘Give Love’.This is such a cool opening to the mini-album. We get deep house mixed with dance. It has such a sick beat, I was vibing from the very start. The vocals are superb and blend super well with this genre. Honestly, it’s dope.
After that we get the title track ‘Crazy About You’. This pop ballad is absolutely lovely with great vocals and soft raps. The music video shows the members in a museum of love and it’s cute.
‘PANDORA’ comes after with a more hip-hop focused track. The whistles are a lovely addition to the very tense instrumentals. It’s a really cool balance, that dances between tension and airy. It’s a really cool track! The harmonies in the bridge are super nice!
Next up is ‘INCREDIBLE’. This is a super funky pop track, with a groovy bass. The low vocals are insane and I might be a bit in love. Members Kuhn and Bit-to co-wrote the track.
After that we get ‘FALL’ which was co-composed by member Xiao. The pop rock instrumentals really help carry the emotional load.
The closing track is ‘SAD ENDING’. UP10TION closes the mini with an R&B ballad that has a super lovely guitar in the back. It really displays the vocal tones of the members and makes this a very warm track.
Overall, UP10TION did a great job with ‘Novella’. It houses a lot of different genres and really shows all of their different sides.
