After teasing Elf for weeks with concept pics and plenty of content, the guys from Super Junior are back with their 11th album ‘The Road : Keep on Going‘. They always find a way to surprise fans with their music and content, and with such a long career history they are still able to show new sides of them through their music.
They dropped a pre-release single last month, and we have been waiting for this album. Let’s get to it and dive right into the music.
The Road : Keep on Going
Kicking off we get ‘Mango‘, the title track for this release. This summer bop brings funky pop tunes along with harmonies and a lot of style. As expected SUJU brings all the vibes with this song. We get the expected outstanding vocalisation and fun rapping, together with a very catchy hook.
With a colourful concept the music video plays off and I cannot stop watching it. The contrasts and sets in video are very eye catching and the little visuals effects make this MV super fun and entertaining to watch. The choreography is super cool as usual, and as we all expected SUJU’s visuals were on point. Watch it below.
The pre-release single ‘Don’t Wait‘ is a massive throwback, so make sure to check our review about it here. ‘My Wish‘ follows up and this pop ballad hits the feels with a stunning melody and SUJU’s vocals and harmonisations. Get deep into your feels and enjoy this song.
With a rhythmic guitar and a nice rock blend ‘Everyday‘ takes over, this single is such a fun listen. It is super playful and had me jamming to it from start to end. The mixing and full arrangement gave me major summer song vibes. Just chill and enjoy.
Last we get the single ‘Always‘, closing this release with a mix of pop and ballad on the up-beat side. Ryewook’s and Yesung’s vocals stand out in this single. The full harmonies for the chorus was such a lovely and heart warming addition, and I really enjoyed how this single feels like such a perfect ending track for this release.
