When their paths cross, the supernatural world becomes the unexpected bridge between them.
A Gift That Feels Like a Curse
Cheon Yeo-ri (Park Eun-bin) is the heiress to a conglomerate and the CEO of a luxury hotel. After a tragic yacht accident nearly takes her life, she wakes up with a terrifying new ability: she can see ghosts.
Her supernatural gift comes with another unexpected consequence. Whenever she touches someone with her hands, she can temporarily pass this ability on to them.
Overwhelmed by her new reality, Yeo-ri isolates herself from others and throws herself into her work. She has learned to live with the ghosts around her, even though she would rather have a normal life.
One day, a ghost appears before her, and Yeo-ri follows it in an attempt to help it cross over into the afterlife. This encounter leads her to Ma Kang-wook (Yang Se-jong), a prosecutor known for his strong ethics and dedication to justice.
Kang-wook was demoted after charging a politician’s son with murder, but he continues to investigate unsolved cases with the same determination. When he meets Yeo-ri during one of his investigations, he immediately becomes suspicious of her.

As their partnership grows, so do Kang-wook’s feelings for Yeo-ri. He tries to keep them under control, but eventually finds an opportunity to confess when Yeo-ri asks him to pretend to be her fiancé in front of her family.
What begins as an arrangement soon becomes something much more meaningful. The two enter a romance filled with love, supernatural mysteries, and dangerous plots against Yeo-ri.
Against All Odds
‘Spooky Love’ is a drama that balances romance, horror, and mystery in a surprisingly engaging way.
The supernatural elements add a unique twist to the love story, while the murder investigations keep the plot moving. We particularly enjoyed how the romance develops organically through the characters’ shared experiences rather than relying on unnecessary love triangles or repetitive misunderstandings.
Park Eun-bin and Yang Se-jong deliver fantastic performances, bringing warmth, chemistry, and emotional depth to their characters. Their relationship is one of the drama’s strongest elements, and the supporting cast adds even more value to the story.
The drama also manages to keep its supernatural elements entertaining without losing sight of its emotional core. Yeo-ri’s journey from isolation to opening herself up to love is particularly touching.
