[Review] Purple Kiss – Geekyland

The girls from Purple Kiss are back with their new mini-album ‘Geekyland’. Let’s take a closer look at this new release.

Geekyland

We start with ‘Intro : Bye Bye Bully’. This mid-tempo track serves as a way into the new spooky world of Purple Kiss.

Next up is the title track ‘NERDY’. This is such a fun title track. The instrumental has some really cool strings implemented and it is a vibe. There’s also some nice bass in the back. The vocals are next level and Yuki’s rap verse was awesome. The breathy ‘you make me cool’ better become a TikTok trend.

In the music video the girls invade a studio and cause chaos and mayhem.

‘FireFlower’ is a Moombahton track. This is a lovely listen with very solid vocals and a nice structure. I wish it had a bit more power behind it.

Next up is ‘Can’t Stop Dreamin”. We’re going EDM and spacey in this one. It’s such a nice track and with their power vocals, this is such a cool moment. The chorus is lovely and catchy. This was the debut trailer of member Ireh.

‘Love is Dead’ is groovy as hell. Yuki has writing credits on this one. Her verse is also super cool. I really enjoyed this single. It’s groovy and has a very solid instrumental. I like the touch of rock this has too. I’m kind of intrigued to see what this would sound like with a full rock band. It’s awesome.

The closing track is ‘SuMMer RaiN’. This mid-tempo ballad has a really lovely warm, acoustic guitar in the instrumentals. I like that they added the bass and the beat. The autotuned vocal in the beginning is also a fun addition. I do want a fully acoustic version of this though.
