The boys from PLAVE are back with their third mini-album ‘Caligo pt.1’. We were very impressed by their second mini-album so let’s take a closer look at this comeback!
Caligo pt.1
We’re going for a retro moment with ‘Chroma Drift’ which blesses our ears with some delightful city pop. I love this track so much. It’s so eighties and when the sax came in I was already sold. (if you’re on TikTok and you’re watching Paloma Diamond, this would fit her series like a glove.)
Next up is the title track ‘DASH‘. First of all, this track is insane. I love it so much. The rock, the gumption is top tier. I dig the guitars so much and the vocals are even better. The talk-singing from the chorus are perfect, which makes the switch-up even more satisfying. The rap verses were so cool!
Honestly the MV makes it even cooler (though I have no idea what the lore is all about), the visuals look sick.
‘RIZZ’ brings us over to hip-hop. I love how the album description introduced this track: “‘RIZZ’, which compares romantic attraction to a sweet dessert, is a snack tune where you can feel sexiness, cuteness, and wit.”
After that comes ‘ISLAND’. This came out as a surprise pre-release track.
‘12:32 (A to T)‘ is the last track on the mini-album. This is a warm acoustic ballad with a beautiful melody, soft guitars and beautiful vocals. This is such a lovely listen.
