[Review] ONF – SUMMER POP-UP ALBUM [POPPING]

The boys from ONF are back to bless us with new music in ‘SUMMER POP-UP ALBUM [POPPING]’. I’m super ready to dive into this new EP, so let’s get right to it!

SUMMER POP-UP ALBUM [POPPING]

We start off with the title track ‘POPPING’. This song is absolutely bonkers, but in all the best ways. It’s catchy, it’s a major vibe and I’m in love with the fact that it works. This track is ONF to its core. The little intro is utterly adorable.

Also I have no idea what is going in the music video, but it looks good! The CGI budget is coming through.

After that we get ‘Summer Poem’ which was co-composed by MK and co-written by Wyatt. As always all the tracks are in collaboration with MonoTree. The track has a Bossa Nova rhythm put in overdrive with great vocals. The bridge exists to make us smile.

‘Summer Shape’ follows that with a beautiful piano ballad intro. The entire track is super soft and doesn’t really have a set chorus. It displays some of the best vocal work by the members and is a smooth, soft jazzy number.

Next up is ‘Dry Ice’. EDM meets reggae in this track. It’s a crazy ride and I had to listen to it a couple of times because I kept getting musical whiplash. Honestly ‘Dry Ice’ is a really fun track that I’d love to see the performance for. It’s insane.

The last track is ‘Summer End’. We end with a soothing city-pop track. There’s some beautiful vocals and some lovely harmonizations happening. I love it.

Overall, ‘SUMMER POP-UP ALBUM [POPPING]’ by ONF is another major win. It’s well balanced and shows off all their strengths. You can go listen to it on Spotify here.
