[Review] O.WHEN – From The Day We Loved, To The Day We Said Goodbye

Ballad singer O.WHEN is back with a new EP ‘From The Day We Loved, To The Day We Said Goodbye’. According to the album information, the EP tells the entire story of falling in love, to the point where you sadly fall out of love. So, hold your tissues ready? Let’s dive in!

From The Day We Loved, To The Day We Said Goodbye

The opening song is ‘Love You’. It’s a beautiful indie ballad, with some incredibly soft vocals. It’s very much the style we’re used to of O.WHEN without feeling like it’s just repeating what he’s released before.

Next up is the title track ‘Can’t hold you’ which came with a brand new music video. I feel like this track has a little bit more of indie rock influences, though it’s still very, very soft. The little ‘ah ah ah’ part gave me chills.

‘Someone Like Me’ starts off with a funky little intro and that little sample plays throughout most of the song. It has a catchy chorus and I feel like there’s a vast dichotomy between segments. Overall it’s quite sad, but then there are other parts where I feel like things will be okay. It’s lovely.

The last track of the EP is ‘Lonely’, which was a pre-release that came out as a single in March. The track itself sounds quite bright, however if you turn the captions on, you’ll see that it actually isn’t.

Overall

I quite enjoyed ‘From The Day We Loved, To The Day We Said Goodbye’ by O.WHEN. He certainly has a way of conveying feelings that feels very ‘him’. I really like his style. All of the songs were written and composed by O.WHEN and I just want to ask, who hurt you?

The EP isn’t on Spotify yet, but here’s his Spotify Artist Profile, so keep an eye out!
