Our dear darling MINHO is back with his first mini-album ‘CHASE‘ and we have been waiting for this for so long.
SHINee’s MINHO has been releasing singles since 2019, his latest release was the R&B song ‘Heartbreak‘ which is included in this mini-album and was originally released in 2021. Including five new tracks, we are expecting nothing but smooth music in this EP.
Let’s get right into the music.
CHASE
The title track ‘Chase‘ kicks off this release on a R&B and Hip-Hop note. For this single we get a lovely piano riff and deep bass mixed with MINHO’s airy vocals with a tocuh of auto-tune. This single was a bit of a surprise as title track, it felt totally completely new. He is showing new colours and we love it. The music video hasn’t been released yet, but check below the trailer, it looks amazing!
Featuring GEMINI, ‘Runaway‘ follows up, with a lot more hip-hop influence. This single brings back rapper MINHO, and we get his lovely melodic verse delivery in his unique tone, the contrast between the two of them is interesting. They both follow the same vibe and flow, and it is seamless and smooth.
Guitar riffs and a low pitch welcomes listeners in ‘Prove It‘. This single has a very surprising vibey groove and soft vocals. It’s a very easy listen. ‘Waterfall‘ featuring LIM KIM comes up next. For this song we go a bit alternative with awesome tunes create by Cha Cha Malone, the harmonies are fantastic and the flow beyond cool.
The last new single in the mini-album is ‘Choice‘ and for this one we get the last bit of summer tunes in a R&B/Pop mix. MINHO’s singing was chill and cool in this single, this song was made to vibe to.
