[Review] MEGAMAX – Painted÷LOVE:)

The boys from MEGAMAX debuted with their album ‘Painted÷LOVE:)’. It’s pretty crazy to debut straight away with an album, but I dig it. The group consists of the members Iden, Ha.El, Rohan, Jaehun, Woojoo and Kan.

Let’s dive in!

Painted÷LOVE:)

We start off with the intro ‘MEGAMAX(INTRO)’. The single is just over a minute and a half and paints the scene. We get a hip-hop track with trap beats and some interesting layering and samples. It’s a great start!

Next up is the track ‘Painted÷LOVE:)‘ in its Korean version. We also get the English version, which is the title track. There’s also the instrumental version and the Orchestral version. The Orchestral version is instrumental and has an insane intro and I am straight up obsessed.

It’s a pretty cool title track. I dig the falsetto and the instrumentals. The pop track has some great vocals and rap verses are awesome. The bridge has some lovely harmonization and chanting. They kinda go off with the vocals, it’s dope.

Next up is ‘On Your Way’ which is an EDM/Hip-hop fusion. It’s a cool listen and has a cool vibe to it. The rap verses again are one of the highlights of the track.

Next up

‘HUG’ is a Dance track that has some really lovely guitar in the background. What a lovely track! It’s giving me a bit of second gen vibes for some reason. This might just be my favorite of the album. It has a great blend of vocals and rap, with smooth instrumentals. The album also has the instrumental version of this song.

After that we get ‘Heart Heart’. This R&B pop blend is super cute and feels very much like a summer release. It’s a great addition to the album and shows their charms.

The last track is ‘Chemistory’. The title is an amalgation of ‘love story’ and ‘chemistry’. This rap Hip-Hop Dance track is super dope. They added some brass to the instrumentation and the single is waiting to be played in the club.

Overall, ‘Painted÷LOVE:)‘ by MEGAMAX is a pretty solid debut album that shows off their variety and strengths. I’m excited to see where they go in the future. You can find the album on Spotify here.
