[Review] LEO – Piano Man Op.9

LEO from VIXX is back with his new solo mini-album ‘Piano Man Op.9’. This is his first EP since his return from his military service. Let’s dive right in!

Piano Man Op.9

We start off with ‘Beautiful Love’. This is an incredibly smooth R&B number. I really dig the synths they used in the instrumental. The layering is really well done. The full track is a wonderful listen.

‘Losing Game’ is up next. This title track is another R&B track. I’m loving the piano and the bass in the backing track. Honestly this is a vibe. The chorus is catchy and the bass is absolutely amazing! Leo’s vocals, as always, are super solid.

The music video is beautiful and decadent. I love the richness in the colors.

We’re going to ballad city with the track ‘So easy’. The beautiful piano accompaniment creates a tender and loving ambience. In the song, Leo is singing about how easy it is to love you. It’s a song that will tug at your heartstrings.

‘Chilling’ is up next. This track is super groovy. The vocal slides gave me chills. I’m going to be obsessed by this track. The jazziness gets amped up with the piano moment. The bass in this one is brilliant as well.

The closing track is ‘Blue Rain’. This ballad brings us a wonderful acoustic guitar. I really enjoyed the rawness of sound. It amplifies the feeling of the track.

Overall ‘Piano Man Op.9’ by LEO is absolutely lovely. It’s great to hear him once again.
