[Review] Khakii – The Summer Rush

Khakii is back with his new EP ‘The Summer Rush’. We’re excited because his previous releases have set the bar high, so I’m expecting to be blown away.

The Summer Rush

We start with ‘Interlude’. This intro is fantastic. It feels moody, like the start of a noir film. Everything echoes and intertwines and I think I’m a little in love.

Next up is the title track ‘Midsommar’ featuring Leellamarz. This is a strange combo between a very mellow beat and Khakii and Leellamarz going off. The control of the rhythm is fab.

The third track is ‘Heavy Rain’ featuring DJ Spray. The bass in this is lovely and adds some depth to the song. Khakii’s rap flows nicely, though I wish they had turned down the one drum sample a little.

Lastly, we have ‘시동’ which translates into ‘start’. This fits the vibe of the rest of the EP nicely. We get a harder hitting tempo in the last part, which left me in a happy mood.

‘The Summer Rush’ by Khakii is honestly really cool. We can start seeing his style and trademark flow.
