[Review] Jeonghan X Joshua – DREAMSCAPE

There’s a new Seventeen sub-unit in town with Jeonghan X Joshua and their EP ‘Dreamscape’. I’m super curious so let’s take a closer look!

We’re starting with a House track with ‘Like You’. “The lyrics capture the narrative of entering a dreamlike world where “I become you,” guiding listeners toward the album theme of “Dreamscape.””

Next up is the title track ’12 o’clock’. This one takes us back to the 70s and 80s with a modern reinterpretation of the era’s disco and funk. This was a really fun listen and is bound to be stuck in your head with its catchy rhythm and cute whistles.

‘Outside’ comes after that and here the album description writes: “This song expresses the sense of liberation of escaping a boring and repetitive daily life and enjoying the sunlight in the heart of the city.” It’s a happy, energetic sound that will give you a pep in your step.

We’re going R&B and soul with ‘One plus One’. It brings a jazzy piano line and an arpeggio guitar sound. This feels like a very cute and wholesome romantic track.

Next up is Joshua’s solo: ‘Not personal’. We’re going for a delicious alternative rock track with a super cool progression and Joshua’s vocals are just the cherry on top. This suits him incredibly well!

Jeonghan’s solo is ‘Coloring’ which is an electro house track that uses a ringtone as a sample. This was a fun listen and makes for a fresh sound.

The closing track is ‘No looking back’. We’re getting another rock based sound with a wild instrumental. This was a great closer!

Go ahead and listen to ‘Dreamscape’ by Jeonghan X Joshua here.
