The girls from the virtual girl group IRISÉ are back with their first EP ‘IRIDISCENT’. In this EP the girls all have their own solo track. Let’s take a closer look!
IRIDISCENT
We start off with member KIIRI with the track ‘KIIRI’. This is a very nice synth pop moment with great vocals and a lovely progression.
‘ZERØ’ comes up next with a more pop rock momentum. I really liked the description: “it’s a free and bold melody for all those who deviate from the set path and set out to find their own answers.”
‘TIZ’ is an EDM hip-hop blend with a really sick beat and nice rap verses. This was a fun listen.
Next up is ‘SHANA’. This is a really cute pop track with adorable vocals and a catchy sing along chorus. The adlibs in the bridge are kinda crazy.
‘LUNÉ’ is about “heartbreaking whispers of Luné, who embraces fate, endures the emptiness within, and waits for the moment to brighten up again.” This ballad is stunning and I loved the vocal layering.
The closing track is a group number and is also the title track. ‘IRIDISCENT’ is an EDM and pop blend with a bit of the melody of ‘Frère Jacques’, a children’s song, which was quite unexpected.
