[Review] ENHYPEN – MANIFESTO: DAY 1

The boys from ENHYPEN are back with their new EP ‘MANIFESTO: DAY 1’. Let’s dive right in to discover which new bops they blessed us with.

MANIFESTO: DAY 1

We start off with ‘WALK THE LINE’. They released the video for this a couple of weeks ago and definitely peaked our interests.

Next up is the title track ‘Future Perfect (Pass the Mic)’. This is quite the new sound for the group. According to the album introduction this falls under the Chicago Drill genre. It’s a fresh sound in the K-pop sphere and I’m really enjoying this complex rap pattern and the balance with the more melodic pre-chorus.

‘ParadoXXX Invasion’ follows that. We’re going old school hip-hop with this one with a dash of R&B and some autotune. It’s fun, nostalgic and honestly they did an amazing job.

Following up is ‘TFW (that feeling when)’. This one is a soft pop rock blend. It’s a total musical whiplash from the previous track. It’s a super lovely track that gives us a nice focus on the vocals.

Next up is ‘SHOUT OUT’. Member Jake co-wrote the lyrics of this one. The guitar opening slaps. We’re going alternative rock on this one and what a vibe.

The closing track is ‘Foreshadow’ which greets us with narration and a continuation of their storyline. Check out the lyrics here.

Overall ‘MANIFESTO: DAY 1’ is an intriguing continuation of the storyline of ENHYPEN. I think it’s great to see their musical growth and exploration.
