[Review] CRAVITY – NEW WAVE

CRAVITY just dropped their fourth mini-album ‘NEW WAVE’. For this release a few of the members were involved not just in the writing of lyrics but also in the production of this EP. Since their debut they have shown a lot of growth in every new comeback, and we have seen their ability to kill it in many genres with their vocal power and outstanding performances.

Let’s dive into this release and check the surprises they have prepared for the fans.

NEW WAVE

Opening this release is the pre-released single ‘Boogie Woogie‘, this is their first single in English, and it is a total bop to have listeners jamming as soon as it plays. This song is pure serotonin and I totally loved its bright and fun energy.

Party Rock‘ is the title track for this release, and for this one we get a very cool musical and vocal arrangement. This single is rather funky and the mix of vocals, ad-libs and rapping made it a very exciting and fresh listen. The music video is super colourful and the members’ outfits very stylish. The visual effects, transitions and performance are awesome and make this production stand out. Check it below.

EDM takes over in ‘New Addition‘, the synth line in this single is awesome, and the addition of the electric guitar solo super sick. The vocal line eats up this track with their high notes and falsettos, and the rap-line back them up with some hype verses.

AUTOMATIC‘ will get you rushing with its powerful synth and surprising composition. The rapping in this single is really good, and as it plays it gets more and more surprising and catchy. The smoothness of the bridge was a welcoming surprise and made this single an even cooler listen.

Next up

Chill-vibes move this release along in ‘Colorful‘. The summer feel of this single gets real with its moombahton inspired style and beat drops, but what makes this single a bop are its back vocals, and awesome flow.

Knock Knock‘ comes up last in this release, with heavy title track potential, this song is refreshing, fun and dynamic. I loved its progression and how amazing the members’ voices sound in this single. Definitely an amazing single that could have also been a cool title song.
