[Review] CIGNATURE – Dear Diary Moment

The girls from CIGNATURE are back after more than a year, with their second mini-album ‘Dear Diary Moment’. We’re super curious, so let’s dive in!

Dear Diary Moment

We start off with the track ‘My Diary’. This pop track with a lovely plucky synths is super fun! The chorus has some really dope layering going on and it’s the perfect track to grab your attention and lift up the spirits. The bridge is lovely because it tones down the instrumentals for a bit, before coming back in a lovely build-up.

‘Boyfriend’ is the title track. This mid-tempo Hip-Hop inspired track is honestly super interesting. The instrumentation starts off very minimal and it slowly, slowly builds up to become more layered. It feels very fresh and I’m very impressed. It’s not the kind of sound I was expecting for a title track. I love it.

Next up is ‘VILLAIN’. We’re getting a really different sound with ‘VILLAIN’. The groovy bassline and the playful synths really work well together with the girls’ vocals. I am a bit surprised they didn’t use this as the title track as it seems more in line with the CIGNATURE sound. It’s a fun pop track, with great vocals and experimental synths.

After that we get ‘Climax’. R&B fits their vocals so well! What a chill song with some stunning adlibs. This is very well crafted, that when you get to the bridge, you already have the melody stuck in your head.

The closing track is ‘Sirius’. We’re getting a stunning ballad with piano and strings. Honestly, I would love to hear a live version of this, orchestra included. It’d be such a wholesome moment. It’s so soft, I love it.

‘DearDiary Moment’ is a really good comeback by CIGNATURE. It was worth the wait.
