[Review] A.C.E – Changer: Dear Eris

A.C.E is back with the repackaged album ‘Changer: Dear Eris’. According to the album description this album is a love letter filled with their memories for their fandom, CHOICE. Let’s take a closer look!

Changer: Dear Eris

We start off with ‘INTRO: Revolutions’. This beautiful intro track sets the scene for an album filled to the brim with a melancholic feeling. It starts off with a stunning instrumentals to then escalate with the snare and electronic beats.

Next up is the new title track ‘Changer’ that came accompanied by a music video. We get a lot of synths and energetic vocals. It has a really good drive forward and is well balanced. It feels a lot lighter than their previous title tracks, lacking their signature heavy EDM drops. It’s very refreshing and fits the theme of the album.

After that we get ‘Black and Blue (Complete Version)’. The original version of this Jun and Wow sub-unit was on their ‘A.C.E Adventures in Wonderland’ album which came out in 2018. It’s a really cool Hip-Hop R&B fusion with some great vocal runs and dope rap verses.

Next up is the Korean version of their pop single ‘Down’. The English version was released a couple of months ago and we wrote about it here.

Next up

‘Talk You Down’ is a new single. This ballad is very sweet and has a beautiful guitar line. It feels very wholesome and is super soft.

Following that is ‘Jindo Arirang (Prequel)’. This track is super stunning filled with traditional instruments. If you haven’t watched the performance video yet, please do so because it’s insanely beautiful.

Next up is the English version of their 2017 debut track ‘Cactus’. This is still such an insane listen, but it’s also so cool and stands the test of time. The album also includes a Remix version.

The closing track is the Wow solo ballad ‘Remember Us’. This lovely ballad really tugs at the heartstrings and the emotional spoken rap verse had me try to swallow the lump in my throat. With Wow already enlisted and the news that Donghun soon to follow, we’ll see a very different A.C.E in the upcoming years.

Overall, ‘Changer: Dear Eris’ by A.C.E is a beautiful, emotive collection of memories and songs. You can find the album on Spotify here.
