Today’s ‘Rapper in the Spotlight’ is a young talent that I cannot get enough of. His talent is mind blowing, and with just 20 years of age he has topped the charts and won a Korean Hip-Hop Award in the category Brand New Artist. Today we are talking about HAON.
High School Rapper
Kim Haon was the winner of High School Rapper 2, throughout the show he did so many memorable performances.
One of my favourite parts of his participation in the survival show was probably his introduction and the interactions he had with Vinxen. The first episode is adorable, he is a ball of sunshine, check it out.
His first solo stage was fire, all the judges were surprised with his skill and he had one of the highest scores. Throughout the show he was in the GroovyRoom team, check out the clip below.
An interesting fact is that HAON is known for writing swear free lyrics. In the show all his lyrics were personal without being aggressive. One of my favourites is the duet he made with Vinxen, ‘Barcode’ is still one of my favourite songs. The lyrics are incredible and this performance was legendary.
H1GHR MUSIC
HAON is also part of the hip-hop crew Kiff Clan, along with other participants of High School Rapper from season 1 and 2. This crew may be young but its members are top class talent. Most of them were born after 1999 and the stage presence they have is basically like the one from artists that have been in the industry for years. Here is a clip of them performing.
In 2018 he was signed under H1GHR Music, and debuted with the album ‘TRAVEL: NOAH’. The title track ‘NOAH’ featuring Jay Park and Hoodie is amazing. This song mixes Spanish and hip-hop beats and it is fire. Check it out.
‘Giddy Up’ was released as a single project featuring members of H1GHR Music and the track is wild. All the artists are incredible rappers and HAON mixes extremely well with the talent in this label.
