Queendom 2 – Episode 4 Recap

Episode 4 of ‘Queendom 2’ is finally out, for this episode VIVIZ, Hyolyn and Kep1er are performing for the ‘Song Cover Contest’, let’s see what happened in our recap.

VIVIZ

Starting off the episode we go right into meetings with VIVIZ taking the lead to choose the song they wanted to perform. They spoke about their concept and how they wanted to do something bolder, brighter and refined, and came up with the idea of performing the single ‘Unnatural’ for the stage.

This was SinB’s first time rapping since her debut, and all the members really worked hard to be able to perform the song. For the stage they went for a Spanish themed concept, and started it with an amazing Spanish guitar intro.

VIVIZ had a great use of stage spaces, giving each member a moment to shine individually. The choreography was charming and very fun to watch with a really cool dance break. This stage was flawless and well balanced. Check it below.

Kep1er

The monster rookies Kep1er were up next, starting off with a little gathering to choose a song. They were trying to find one that suited their age and wasn’t mature concept wise. After deep thought the members wanted to choose ‘We Ride’ but after failing while trying to explain Hikaru what the song was about they decided to go for a mix of ‘Pool Party’ and ‘Rollin’.

This stage was all about summer and adorable/dreamy visuals. The sea themed stage was beyond adorable, and the dance break with the members was super neat. To add the cherry on top, their performance ended with a Disney-like feel, however, as it ended we found out about a few issues .

Towards the end of the performances Doyeon fell off the stage and the stage was also slippery making it complicated for other members to dance, regardless of all that the members did an incredible job and despite the small issues the stage ended on a good note. GOOD JOB!

Hyolyn

Hyolyn was up next, closing off this round as the queen that she is. We have to mention again how much we love the relationship Hyolyn has with her staff, it is wholesome, supportive and super professional, all at the same time.

The staff were concerned about her choosing a group with twelve members, however, they gave her all their support when she chose ‘So What’ for this stage.

All the work Hyolyn puts into the performances is impressive. She is self produced, and it is just incredible how hard she works to deliver a good performance. In her creative process for the performance she came up with the idea of going completely opposite to her first stage, and decided to go for all black and a ‘Cat Woman’ concept.

Her preparation for this stage was incredible, she did aerial hoop training for this particular performance, what a legend.

Once the performance started, everyone (including us) were in shock with her hanging from the hoop (representing the moon and LOONA’s concept). The re-arrangement of the song was amazing and she even added a small part of the song ‘PTT’ as part of the mix for this stage. To end this already outstanding and incredible performance Hyolyn engaged with the audience, hyping them up and just being the performer she is. We were absolutely speechless.

The Aftermath

We got some wholesome interactions between the members of all the groups showing concern for Doyeon from Kep1er who fell off the stage.

For the self-evaluation round WJSN chose Hyolyn as one level higher than them. They chose LOONA as one level below them.

LOONA chose no one higher than themselves and Kep1er one level below. The girls from Kep1er decided the performance of WJSN was one level below them, with no one higher than them.

Brave Girls went for no one above them and WJSN below them.

Hyolyn went for no one above her and Brave Girls as one level below her. She explained that the performance didn’t fully match her expectations. Lastly, VIVIZ also chose no one higher than them and Brave Girls as one level below them.

The result of the global vote is as follows:

1) Hyolyn
2) LOONA
3) WJSN
4) VIVIZ
5) Kep1er
6) Brave Girls

The live judging rank is as follows:

1) Hyolyn
2) LOONA
3) WJSN
4) VIVIZ
5) Kep1er
6) Brave Girls

The final ranking with all of the points for round 2 is the same as the live ranking.

Next week’s episode all of the girls are going on a trip. We’re going to see some great vocal performances and some awesome choreographies! That was it for ‘Queendom 2’ episode 4. If you’d like to go back to last week’s episode you can click here.
