OSTs We Loved – Part 1

One of the things I love the most in Korean Dramas is their soundtrack. I am a melophile (Music Lover). Come join my support group. Nothing makes a story better than good music complimenting every scene, intensifying the feeling of the moment, improving the ambience of a shot and capturing viewers’ hearts by bringing up emotions that sometimes we didn’t even know we could feel.

Today I want to share a few of my favourite OSTs. The list is long but I have narrowed it to the songs that I still listen to to this day. Be ready for some romance and ballads.

Number 1: Gummy – You Are My Everything (Descendants of the Sun)

Gummy is a fantastic vocalist. She is one of my favourite ballad singers, and any OST sung by her is guaranteed to be added to my playlist.  I had to include this song because it is beautiful, romantic and it was also very popular when ‘Descendants of the Sun’ was airing.

Number 2:  Ben – Like a Dream (Another Oh Hae Young)

The OST of ‘Another Oh Hae Young’ was fantastic. There is more than one song from the soundtrack I loved in this drama. However, I chose ‘Like a Dream’ because I love Ben’s vocals, and in every single scene where this song was played, sad times were guaranteed (I love a sad story).

Number 3: Secret Affair (All of them)

Secret Affair was one INTENSE drama, and the OST is classical music played by orchestras and everyone should listen to it. It is breathtaking, absorbing and a gift to the listeners. If you love classical music as much as I do, you will love this playlist (You’re welcome).

Number 4: Heize – Round and Round (Goblin)

Heize is a QUEEN, and the scene with ‘Round and Round’ playing in the background is probably one of the most well known, loved and remembered scenes in ‘Goblin’. The song has a quite intense feeling but many fans (and myself) will always remember just “green onions”. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go and watch ‘Goblin’. You will get it and also love it.

Number 5: Henry – It’s You (While You Were Sleeping)

I have always felt that Henry is better known as an entertainer rather than the music genius he is. Go and check his Spotify playlist and fall in love with the lyrics of this song. They are super romantic and Henry’s voice is beautiful, soft and perfect for ballads.

That’s it for this list, please let us know your favourite OSTs and make sure to watch all the dramas mentioned above because they are all really good.
