[Offstage] PEEJAY

For this week’s Offstage we want to talk about the career of a songwriter, producer and rapper mastermind of many well-known hip-hop and R&B hits. Let’s talk about Peejay.

Park Jeong-Cheol (aka. Peejay) started his career as a rapper as one half of the duo Rhyme Bus in 2007 until its disbandment in 2010. 

In 2009, he won the final prize in the composer category in the show SUTASHI, and he has been working on solo projects since 2010, starting with the collaboration album ‘The Combination’ with the producer Jinbo. 

Within the K-pop industry he has worked with many artists, including BIG BANG, FT ISLAND,  2NE1, and more recently AKMU and IU

Works with Hip-Hop and R&B artists

PEEJAY has mainly worked with hip-hop and R&B artists, he founded his own one man record label Walkin Records in 2014; and from 2016 to 2019, he was part of the YG’s subsidiary label, The Black Label

He has produced, composed and arranged for artists such as Zion T., Beenzino, BIG Naughty, ZICO, Wonstein, pH-1, Hoody, and EPIK HIGH, among many others.
