Ode To The Artist: Lee Jung Hyun

We’re going first gen with the iconic Lee Jung Hyun. Let’s take a closer look at her discography.

The Techno Queen of K-pop a.k.a AVA didn’t start her career as a singer. She actually started by starring in a 1996 film ‘Petal’. The role earned her multiple awards and launched her career.

Debut

She debuted as a singer in 1999 with ‘Let’s Go To My Star’. The double title track ‘Change’ and ‘Wa’ are absolute bangers.

A year after that Lee Jung Hyun came back with the album ‘Lee Jung Hyun II’. The album is a whopping 53 minutes long and contains 15 tracks. There are three title tracks; ‘Peace’, ‘You’ and ‘Give To You’.

Lee Jung Hyun had this insane quality where she transformed for each and every music video. She had different roles for each of them. She was an Egyptian goddess, a mermaid, a doll and a military leader.

‘Magic Go To My Star’ was her third full-length album. It was released in 2001.

Her album after that was ‘I ♡ Natural’ where she blended more traditional Korean music with techno like in ‘Ari Ari’.

‘Passion’ brought a more Latin influence to her music in 2004.

2006 brought us the classic ‘I Love You, Cheol-soo’ on the album ‘Fantastic Girl’.

Her first EP ‘Avaholic’ was released in 2009.

Lee Jung Hyun’s seventh full album came out in 2010.

Her last single was released in 2013. We wrote about ‘V’ earlier in our list of craziest music videos

Throughout her music career she kept on acting. You can find her full filmography here.
