We’re back with a new MV Rec, this time about ‘Ruin’ by Sunkyoung.
‘Ruin’ was a single on the EP ‘Fog’s Words’ that was released in January. The music video was released in May.
In the album description they wrote this about the single: “Voices and instruments gather and dance one by one. Not a fancy dance, but a gesture like a ritual. It is a dance that moves around a bonfire to cast a spell or a prayer.”
In the music video we get shot after shot of Sunkyoung braiding parts of her hair and cutting them off, which gets more and more erratic and faster paced. The pace change adds to the ‘prayer-like feeling as it feels like you’re getting more and more in a trance.
It’s a beautifully shot video and definitely worth a listen.
