MV Rec: John OFA Rhee – BLAME

In this week’s we are featuring and R&B singer who deserves a lot more attention. Let’s chat about John OFA Rhee and his music video for the single ‘BLAME’.

Let’s start off with the fact that the song is super smooth, his singing is amazing and this song is musically rich. The music video has very alternative aesthetics with a monochrome palette that fits the feel of this track to perfection.

The dancers in the music video do an incredible job transmitting the feelings in this song with subtle, delicate and sharp movements. The camera work is fantastic and the way they played with the lightning and angles had me absolutely stunned.

The shots where John OFA Rhee is featured feel very raw and honest, effortlessly good and very organic.

I found it very interesting how towards the end he is covering himself in paint which to me seemed a bit like blood. And how after that it transitioned into a shot where sunlight made the face of the person undistinguishable. It made me wonder if it was a representation of going to heaven or starting a new life.

Let us know your thoughts. You can watch this music video below, and go ahead and check his Spotify profile here for more incredible music.
