LUCY’s New Mini-Album ‘WAJANGCHANG’ Is Proof They Can Do Literally Anything

The band LUCY is back with their latest mini-album ‘WAJANGCHANG’. We’re beyond curious, so let’s take a closer look!

WAJANGCHANG

We start off with the first of two title tracks ‘Wakey Wakey‘ which they pre-released a couple of weeks ago.

Next up is the second title track ‘Hippo’. This is a jazz number and I’m obsessed. The violin and the bass go crazy and I love the progression and how full this sound feels. This is a fresh sound for them!

Next up is ‘Pathetic Love’. We’re getting a rock track that “captures the speaker’s longing for his departed lover without reservation.” The guitars are absolutely amazing in this and I love the balance between calm and intensity.

Outsider’ has a crazy guitar riff in the backing track. I really enjoyed the chanting in the background. It enhances the ambience a lot and creates a lot of momentum.

After that comes ‘Why you hate…’ We’re going for warm acoustic guitars and violins and I loved the absolute breadth of sound. It’s tender and emotional and sweet.

The EP closes off with ‘bleu’. This track has a “sound that seems to warmly embrace a cold dream.” It’s a very dreamy track that screams melancholy and comfort. It’s a slow track with well thought-out instrumentation. I loved the plucky violin sounds.
