Label Deep Dive: ScreaM Records – SM Entertainment’s EDM Powerhouse

We’re back with another edition of our Label Deep Dive series, and this time we’re spotlighting an SM Entertainment sub-label that’s redefining K-pop with electronic energy: ScreaM Records.

What is ScreaM Records?

Established in 2016 by SM Entertainment, ScreaM Records was founded with the goal of developing a space for EDM and electronic music within the K-pop industry. The label was the brainchild of Lee Seo-Kyung, a former SM A&R employee known for incorporating deep house elements into the works of SHINee and f(x).

The Artists of ScreaM Records

IMLAY was the first DJ signed under the label, bringing a unique, progressive EDM style.

In 2018, HYO (Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon) joined the label, marking her solo transition into DJ and EDM territory.

Raiden followed in 2019, becoming one of the label’s key names for both collaborations and festival-ready drops.

The iScreaM Project

In 2020, ScreaM Records launched iScreaM, a monthly remix series where SM title tracks get reinvented by EDM producers. The series began with NCT 127’s ‘Kick It’, giving fans a powerful new sonic experience.

Later that year, Mar Vista was signed, debuting with a remix of EXO-SC’s ‘1 Billion Views’, further diversifying the label’s style.

Latest Addition: 2Spade

In 2024, 2Spade became the most recent artist to join ScreaM Records, continuing the label’s mission to spotlight cutting-edge electronic talent.

ScreaM Records is a hidden gem within SM’s roster—a label that constantly surprises with high-quality, boundary-pushing remixes and original tracks. Whether you’re into house, future bass, or trap, ScreaM’s releases are always worth a listen.
