Singer-songwriter Rothy is our latest feature for our Indie Pick.
Rothy, a 99-liner made her debut in 2017 with the single ‘Stars’. She signed with record label DOROTHY Company. The only other artist the company has is ballad king Shin Seung-hun.
The soloist has been on my radar for a while. I first heard her song ‘Stars’ not too long after it came out and I really enjoyed her timbre. Rothy has a little bit of a raspiness to her voice that is right up my alley.
She also collabed with Block B’s U-KWON for the drama ‘Jugglers’ that I watched.
In 2018 Rothy released her first mini-album ‘Shape of Rothy’ with the title track ‘Burning’.
You have got to watch this dingo performance video. It’s insane, but I was laughing so much.
The 2019 mini-album ‘Color of Rothy’ is probably my favorite. ‘Bee’ is such a memorable song!

The latest song she released is the OST ‘Sleepless Night’ for the drama ‘Backstreet Rookie’.
