EP Review: Rocket Punch – RED PUNCH

2019 rookies under Woollim Entertainment, Rocket Punch are back with their second EP ‘Red Punch’, and these girls are incredible, let’s dive right in!

‘RED PUNCH’

‘Red Punch’ starts this EP with a full EDM track without vocals, and immediately sets the mood of this release.

‘BOUNCY’ follows it, and this one is also the title track for this extended play. This song is a powerful track full of synths and EDM sounds that mixes perfectly with the members’ vocals. The music video is super colourful and fun, check it out.

Third on the list is ‘So Solo’, this track has a super catchy chorus, the members’ vocals are on point in this song and their harmonization was something I did not expect, but it worked extremely well.

‘Fireworks’ is next and this up-beat pop ballad has some extremely cool mixing that makes it suitable for a summer release. I can totally see myself dancing at a pool party to this song.

Changing the mood with an extremely beautiful piano solo we have ‘Paper Star’. This song screams OST, and it is super soft. The violins complement the breathtaking vocals. I want to watch the live performance for this song, because let me tell you, it would be stunning.

On a similar vibe, ‘Lilac’ is next. This song is just beautiful. The members of Rocket Punch have incredible vocals. They hit that high note towards the end of the song flawlessly. #VocalQueens.

Closing this EP with a more lively and happy tune we have ‘Girl Friend’. This song is a total bop. If you have been reading my reviews, you might know that I’m totally into acoustic instruments and the violins in this song mixed with EDM is an unexpected mix which I loved.

The EP ‘RED PUNCH’ by Rocket Punch is full of good songs, and I can’t wait to hear more releases from this 2019 rookie group.
