From Idol to Acting Star
Jung Chae-yeon debuted in the music industry in 2015 as a member of the girl group DIA. Her star rose even higher in 2016 when she participated in the survival show Produce 101, earning her place in the lineup for the immensely popular temporary group I.O.I.
That same year, she ventured into acting, landing an extra role in the web-drama ‘Sweet Temptation.’ Her first official acting credit followed shortly after with a supporting role in tvN’s ‘Drinking Solo.’
By 2017, Chae-yeon’s acting career gained momentum with roles in the Naver TV series ‘109 Strange Things’ and the SBS drama ‘Into the World Again.’
Transitioning to Starring Roles
From 2018 onward, Chae-yeon transitioned into larger roles. She starred in the web-drama ‘To. Jenny’ and made her big-screen debut with ‘Love Again.’
In 2019, she took on leading roles in Netflix’s productions ‘My First First Love’ and ‘My First First Love 2,’ further solidifying her position as a promising actress.
After a brief hiatus, Chae-yeon returned in 2021 as part of the cast for the hit drama ‘The King’s Affection.’
Latest Works
In 2022, Chae-yeon starred in the MBC drama ‘The Golden Spoon,’ showcasing her continued growth as an actress. Her most recent work was in JTBC’s production ‘Family by Choice,’ where she shared the screen with Hwang In-yeop and other notable actors.
