In this week’s Actor Spotlight we are talking about an actress whose popularity increases year by year, and her acting skill just gets better with every project. Let’s dive into Chae Soo-Bin’s career.
Beginnings
Before being casted for the small screen, Chae Soo-bin started off as a theater actress in 2013. In her early days she was known for her many advertisements, it wasn’t until 2014 that she got her first opportunity in the one-episode drama ‘Drama Festival – The Diary of a Resentful Woman’, and the film ‘My Dictator’.
The following year, Soo-bin kept expanding her portfolio with several television series and movies including the dramas: ‘Spy’, ‘House of Bluebird’, ‘Cheer Up’; and the film ‘Night With a Perfect Stranger’.
Her acting in the drama ‘House of Bluebird’ earned her the Best New Actress awards in the APAN Star Awards and the KBS drama Awards in 2015.
Rise in popularity
In 2016 she landed a supporting role for the popular drama ‘Love In The Moonlight’, and the film ‘Sori: Voice From The Heart’. With her rise in popularity, in 2017, she participated in the historical drama ‘The Rebel’, and landed her first main role with the production ‘Strongest Deliveryman’, and the special drama ‘If We Were A Season’.
‘I’m Not a Robot’ was her next main role in 2018, and this same year she also participated in the drama ‘Where Stars Land’.
In 2019 she went back to the big screen with the movies ‘Rosebud’ and ‘M.Boy’, and in 2020 she participated in the drama ‘A Piece of Your Mind’.
Latest Works
Since 2021, Soo-Bin has been very active in the film industry, she participated in the Netflix movie ‘Sweet & Sour’ and in 2022 she landed a role in the hit film ‘The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure’.
Her latest project was the web-series ‘The Fabulous’ released in December 2022.
