[Review] ARTMS – <hyper-ego>

The girlies from ARTMS are back with their latest mini-album ‘<hyper-ego>’. I’m beyond curious because those teasers looked insane. So let’s take a closer look!

We start off the EP with ‘From Wings to Soul’ which is a cool synthy opener. We get a surprise appearance from member Haseul as she couldn’t participate in this comeback due to surgery on her shoulder.

The first of two title tracks is ‘Born Stunner’ which was pre-released.

‘Blue Blood’ is the second title track and is a wonderful hyper-pop moment. This is such a cool moment and a total vibe!

‘Icarus Gang’ is an interesting one! It’s a hip-hop driven track with a really cool bass in the instrumentals and an interesting progression. I enjoyed the vocal layers and the crunchy production.

Next up is ‘Hyper Crush’ which according to the album introduction is a track “that harnesses the energy of ARTMS’s freedom to relentlessly challenge the status quo and pursue novelty within a mundane world.”

The closing track is ‘Pixel Memory’. This is hyper pop to the top with a crazy pace and a lot of energy.
