In this edition of our K-Variety Taster, we are talking about a Big Hit Music web show that we discovered not too long ago and instantly became obsessed with. Let’s talk about ‘HUENINGKAI’s Countless Friends‘.
The series is hosted by none other than Huening Kai of Tomorrow X Together, who sets out on a mission to make new friends with the help of his fellow TXT members. The concept originally stemmed from the interaction between Riku of NCT WISH and HUENINGKAI, eventually evolving into a hilariously awkward yet incredibly wholesome variety show filled with charm and unexpected chemistry.
During the first season, viewers watched HUENINGKAI attempt to befriend fellow celebrities born in the same year as him. The very first guest was none other than the lovable Lee Young Ji, and their chaotic chemistry immediately set the tone for the series.
Throughout the season, fans also got to see Kai interact with other 2002-liners, including Nicholas from &TEAM and entertainer Patricia. Each episode balanced adorable awkwardness, funny conversations, and surprisingly heartwarming moments as Kai slowly built connections with his guests.
The second season of the web variety show officially kicked off in May 2026, but this time, Kai expanded his friendship mission beyond people his own age, especially after hilariously failing to keep in touch with both his first and third guests from season one.
The new season opened with Jay from Enhypen, followed by Dohoon of TWS and Zhang Hao from AND2BLE. The expanded format has already brought even more hilarious dynamics and entertaining interactions to the show.
As HUENINGKAI continues his quest to make new friends, we are definitely looking forward to seeing who will appear as the next guest.
