MONSTA X is finally back with their latest EP ‘The X’. This is their first EP all back together after their military enlistment. Let’s take a closer look!
The X
We start off with their pre-released ‘Do What I Want’ which was a total bop! Read about it here.
After that comes the title track ‘N to the front’. This is Monsta X to the core, great vocals, cool rap verses, a killer bass and cool electronica. It’s powerful and dope.
‘Savior’ is up next. I loved the piano riffing at the beginning. When the synths and drums join in, I knew we were getting a killer track. This is straight up fire.
We’re going for a hip-hop focused track with ‘Tuscan Leather’. It’s a sexy, luxurious track that begs for a relisten. Joohoney produced this track and as expected it’s cool as hell.
‘Catch Me Now’ is all about toxic love; “A song about the dangerous love that you keep reaching out to even though you know you can’t reach it, and the emotions of experiencing both fall and liberation at the end.”
We’re closing off with ‘Fire & Ice’ which Hyungwon co-wrote and co-composed. It’s a pop dance moment that also has some R&B influences. It’s a fun vibe and “expresses a love that transcends other forms.”
