[Review] Kang Daniel – ACT

Kang Daniel is back with his new mini-album ‘ACT’. This is his first release with ARA Inc. We’re super curious to see what he came back with, so let’s dive right in!

ACT

We open up with the track ‘Losing Myself‘. This is a rock EDM blend with really cool guitars and a very solid build-up. The chorus goes hard and I’m kind of curious to see what the hardcore version would be like.

Next up is ‘Get Cool’. I enjoyed the opening with the distorted vocal. This is honestly a really cool track with R&B, trap and house. The instrumental is super layered and creates a vibe!

Kang is really showing off his vocals in the title track ‘Electric Shock’. We’re going for a pop R&B blend with cool synths, a very dope piano riff and some killer vocals.

This choreo looks super sick by the way.

Queen Chung Ha is featured on the following track ‘Come back to me‘. This EDM pop track is lovely and both of their vocals sound amazing together.

The closing track of this EP is ‘9 Lives’. I enjoyed this part of the album description: “‘Like I got 9 lives, no matter how many times I face it, I’ll overcome any challenge that tests me in difficult times with a positive attitude. As if I have nine lives, there’s nothing to be afraid of.” It’s an uplifting EDM pop track.

Overall ‘Act’ by Kang Daniel is a really solid listen. Check it out here on Spotify.
