[Review] THE BOYZ – THRILL-ING

The Boyz are back with their sixth mini-album ‘THRILL-ING‘. They’ve had a couple of busy years with the filming of ‘Road To Kingdom’ and ‘Kingdom: Legendary War‘, and have fed fans with incredible content and fantastic music.

This time they are back with a release that is described to have “six different emotions and one theme”, let’s listen to what they are bringing with this mini-album.

THRILL-ING

We start off with ‘THRILL RIDE‘ a single that indeed is thrilling and unique. This song almost feels like a summer release with a playful beats, however, it also includes a hip-hop/electronic driven track that makes it charming and fun to listen to. The rap-line stood out for me in this track, they delivered the verses flawlessly.

For the music video the boys went fully on vacation mood, but beach themed sets and outfits, and a killer choreography (as usual). Watch it below.

Synth-pop and an angsty vibe meet in ‘Out of Control‘, the high notes in this track are cool. The bridge is SMOOTH. I really liked how well balanced this track is and how the vocal line took over and killed it.

Get ready to jam to ‘Dancing Til We Drop‘, this song is fun and had me smiling from beginning to end. The harmonizations are fabulous and the disco feel makes it even better.

Nightmare‘ comes next with a very unexpected but amazing intro, the vocalization is insane and the opera style backing vocals are SO GOOD. This song is definitely dark but intriguing. I LOVED what they did with this track, it is unique and super well-balanced.

With a more EDM/Pop track we slide into ‘Merry Bad Ending‘. Once again we get The Boyz killing it it with their harmonizations and ad-libs. Last on this release we get ‘B.O.Y (Bet on You)‘, this pop single ends this mini-album on a sweet note with soft vocals and a lot of charm.

‘THRILL-ING’ by The Boyz definitely makes listeners go through different emotions, and it is a very interesting and solid release. Make sure to listen to it here.
