1. IU ft G-Dragon – Palette
IU’s “Palette” is one of those songs in which she explores and compares the societal expectations that people have on her and her real self. Mostly self-composed and written, this song talks about IU’s journey in the music industry and how she feels “truly fine” now that she is 25 and has come to accept herself, despite all the pressure put on her.
In the MV, IU reflects on her past looks from either performances or previous music videos. She also tells you which one she thought looked best or which one was the most fun.
“Palette” is definitely one of my favorite IU songs, her wonderful vocals mixed with G-Dragon’s rapping make an amazing combination for one chill night at home or just to listen to after a long day of work.
2. Winner – Fool
Aesthetics is the first word that comes to mind every time I watch Winner’s music video for “Fool”, you can sort of feel the message they’re trying to deliver through the clip. There is a lot happening though, so it can be quite confusing at times.
“Fool” is about a break-up and how the person who broke up, feels regret for their behaviour and wants a second chance. Winner’s vocals are solid as always and the rapline brings a really smooth presence in this amazing song.
3. Loona – Butterfly
Gorgeous shots, wonderful vocals and cultural diversity make butterfly by the girl group Loona one of the best music videos out there this year. This beautiful ballad will brighten your day when you feel the blues and will give you hope when everything seems hopeless. The meaning of the song is about overcoming obstacles and reaching your dream, flying towards it like a butterfly.
Also, it is great to listen to with a glass of wine with friends after a long day of work.
