If you’re a K-pop fan who’s spent any time on TikTok lately, you’ll probably have seen ‘Hair Short’ by WINGS come up on your feed a lot.
TikToker dollsby9musesenthusiast posted their first TikTok about it in their “kpop hooting and hollering moments I think about constantly”, which is honestly an iconic phrase in itself. One of those videos was ‘Hair Short’ by WINGS and the rest is history.
I want you to take a look at the Google Trends with the YouTube searches for this song for the last month. Now that’s impact!
‘Hair Short’ was released in 2014 by the duo WINGS. This was a short-lived girl group as they only released one single album.
Luckily we have had a chance to rediscover this total gem. I also like how they start the music video with the Caravaggio painting ‘Judith Beheading Holofernes‘. There’s also ‘Salome’ by Henri Regnault, a Gustav Klimt painting and a photograph by Japanese photographer Ariko Inaoka.
