September Korean Indie DisKovery

We’re back with our September Korean Indie DisKovery. I don’t know about you but with everyone returning to school, the weather completely turning around and starting a bunch of new hobbies, this month completely flew by. It’s officially sweater weather which I love, so let’s take a look back at the past indie releases of the month.

Week 1

HANRORO released ‘Don’t be afraid to fall’. I adore this! The lighter vocals fit so well with the electric guitar. I love how they balance each other off.

Samme released ‘#5’. The way this song is so laidback while also being very uplifting is lovely.

Week 2

AJC released ‘Broken Clock’. It’s a ballad with a very interesting instrumentation. I’m not sure if it’s the layering or the piano, but something gives it this odd feeling which fits the ambience of the track to a t.

Spotify

Queenstown came out with ‘No Matter’. This feels very oldschool and I’m here for it.

Spotify

Line and Circle dropped the stunning ‘When the sun sets and the wind blows’. I’m proper obsessed with this album.

Week 3

Suwon Yim released ‘Burden’. I’m loving this jazziness.

Spotify

Min Cloudia is a new discovery for me. Her new single ‘To my lover’ is beautiful and her timbre is wonderfully scratchy. The piano in this is also definitely a highlight.

Spotify

Huckleberryfinn came out with ‘Tempest’. What a fantastic album!

Week 4

KONTRAJELLY came out with ‘Rattlesnake’s Tail’. I’m so intrigued by this release.

Spotify

Mcboi teamed up with nangman for the single ‘This is my’. The vibe, the vocals, the arrangement, I love it!

Spotify

I’m Gold dropped the wonderful ‘Midnight in Paris’. It’s kind of just a conversation over some beautiful instrumentation, but it created such a magical moment.

That’s it for this September Korean Indie DisKovery. What was your favorite release this month?
