[Review] YERIN – Rewrite

Yerin is back with her latest mini-album ‘Rewrite’. Let’s take a closer look at what treats she brought us.

Rewrite

We start off with the title track ‘Wavy‘. We’re going for the House genre with sick synths and a rhythmic brass section. This is a catchy, feel-good bop that is like a shot of serotonin. I’m loving this!

‘SHINE’ comes along with a pop rock vibe and some killer drums. Yerin’s vocals shine here (pun intended). This is a really lovely listen.

Next up is ‘Permeate’. This one tells the “story of confusion and wandering when light disappears and dark blood spreads throughout the body, losing power.” We’re blessed with retro pop and some really groovy instrumentals. 100% obsessed with this.

Save Me’ starts with some lovely strings. We’re going for a more R&B inspired track which is super sick. I’m really enjoying the thick layering of the instrumentals.

Next up is the only feature on the album. Kim Dayeon from Kep1er joins Yerin for the track ‘One Thing’. We’re going for some oldschool hip-hop with “a story about how the wounds and pains I’ve experienced so far were my growing pains, and how I endured the painful times and became stronger with my memories with you.”

Closing off this mini is ‘4U’. We’re going for 2000s House with a lot of funk and I absolutely how girly this sounds. It’s utterly adorable.
