WINNER has made their return to the music industry as a group after a couple of years with ‘HOLIDAY’. I am beyond thrilled to see MINO, Hoony, Jinu and Yoon together again. They have been feeding the Innercircle with plenty of content and TikToks, and it’s very wholesome seeing them together again.
‘HOLIDAY‘ sounds like a very summery type of release, so let’s check it out and see if my predictions are correct. Let’s start.
HOLIDAY
Starting off with some old-school synth pop vibes we get the title track ‘I LOVE YOU’. This song is sweet, light hearted and a very cute listen. Hoony’s and Mino’s rapping as usual were full of power. I loved the little play between their verses, and as expected Jinu’s and Yoon’s vocals were just amazing. I am always in for WINNER’s softer and funny concepts.
The music video shows us the goofy side of WINNER and I absolutely adore it. This MV is super entertaining, fun to watch I and loved the individual concepts they have. However, the group shot and dance on the “garden” was lovely to watch. This music video is happiness and we are indeed happy to be back in the WINNER show.
‘10 MIN’ follows up with a touch of disco synth and a fun mix of beats. The mixing in this track is awesome and unexpected. Every beat drop brings a new surprise. It is so full of energy that it is impossible not to jam to it. My personal highlights were the bridge and outro, Hoon is an absolutely vocal king.
A lovely guitar intro welcomes listeners to ‘HOLIDAY‘. Soon after, this song changes to more playful beat that had me jamming. This single is a very summery type of track. I can totally see myself chilling by the pool and listening to this single. It kinda feels like an ‘Island‘ 2, and I am living for it.
A happy family
‘SWEET HOME’ follows up and it brings a fairly different sound I haven’t heard from WINNER. The harmonica addition and orchestration mix was very different and fun to listen to. This single is a feel-good type of track to hype up crowds. The outro had me singing along. The power.
With ‘FAMILY’ rapper Yoon is back and he delivered. This single is very wholesome, it will definitely make you smile and even more if you are part of the Innercircle. Mino’s rapping went off in this song and his speed was just super dope.
Last in this mini-album we get ‘LITTLE FINGER’, leaning on the soft but fun pop-side, Hoony’s verse in this song is super cool and Jinu’s chorus and his soft vocals were fantastic. Overall this single ends this release on a very happy and chill note.
‘HOLIDAY‘ managed to give us summer bops and it really felt like a welcome album. WINNER just wants to share their happiness with us, and we love them for that.
