[Review] TripleS – ASSEMBLE

The girls from TripleS are back with their new mini-album ‘ASSEMBLE’. We’re stoked, so let’s dive in!

ASSEMBLE

We start off with ‘Beam‘. I really like this synthy start of the album. It’s soft and allows us to pay attention to the girls’ vocals. The beat is a vibe and overall, I’m really digging this.

Next up is the short interlude ‘Before the Rise’. The intro for the title track Rising consists out of short sound bits and a very cool beat. I really like the layering of it.

‘Rising’ is really good! I like the airyness of it and the recurring snare beats. The layering in this one is insane! The catchiness of the ‘la la la la la’ part really helps elevate this into a very cool bop.

‘Colorful’ has very interesting instrumentation. The harmonizations really bring me back to eary K-pop girl group days. I’m obsessed by the sassiness of the rap verses. I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Next up is ‘The Baddest’. We’re going for powerful confidence and continue on with the sass. The beat really draws out the tension and will keep you on your tippy-toes. This is so dope.

‘New Look’ gives us some cool synths. This is a fun, retro moment. It feels very 80s and makes me want to get a big Cindy Crawford hairdo with some 80s aerobic sportswear.

The closing track is ‘Chowall’. This is a soft outro and is a lovely end to a fantastic mini.
