K-Drama Review: Romance is a bonus book

Just put Lee Jong-Suk in a K-drama and I will watch it. He is one of my favorite actors and well, his visuals are no joke.

Today I will introduce and recommend one extremely cute drama that I found in Netflix thanks to a friend who told me about it. “Romance is a bonus Book” is the last drama Lee Jong-Suk   filmed before his enlistment and as usual he did not disappoint.

Starring Lee Na-young as Kang Dan-i  and Lee Jong-suk as Cha Eun-ho, “Romance is a bonus Book” is a drama set in an editorial and shows all the hard work of editors, marketers, writers and many more professionals before publishing a book in a publishing company.

Probably what I liked the most about this drama was the human side of it. All the characters were somehow “normal people” struggling with life and trying to make it at work. They all have their own personal lives, families, a past, and most importantly there was not a single character that played “the villian”. They all had their good and bad moments and that made it somehow more real for me. It’s a sign of excellent writing, rather than sticking to stereotypical characters, they made them all well-rounded.

I also loved the fact that this drama made did not get caught up in the love stories but rather showed development of characters and managed to somehow renew my love for physical books.

If you want to watch a lighthearted series with a lot of cute scenes, strong characters and good acting make sure to watch this drama. It will not disappoint.
